Identification of anxiety-depressive disorders in paramedics working shift work

Introduction Shift work can lead to mental health problems evolving into real anxiety disorders with significant socio-professional repercussions. Objectives The purpose of our was screen paramedics shift for disorders. Methods Cross-sectional study carried out among the paramedical staff a Tunisian university hospital. data collected from pre-established record sheet. Screening anxiety-depressive done using HAD scale Results included 158 paramedics. average age 36.48 years female predominance at 70.9%. working time 11.1 8.9 and in 10.27 9.2 years. Of 13 departments non-standard hours work, main represented were resuscitation (n=24; 15.2%), emergencies (n=18; 11.4%) radiology (n=17; 10.8%). Nurses accounted 46.2%, manual workers 23.4% senior technicians 19%.Certain symptomatology found 53.2% (n=84) doubtful 29.1% (n=46) general population. Certain depressive noted 17.1% (n=27) 30.4% (n=48) Occupational seniority statistically significantly associated both (p=0.04/p=0.05) depression (p=0.05/p=0.006) symptomatology. ). Similarly, this position occupied (p=0.02 / p=0.04) assignment department (p=0.008 p=0.01).
